The newest member of the Mitchell family is yet to learn that his son Barney is not his
EastEnders fans have said that they ‘fear the man’ Teddy Mitchell will become after discovering Sharon Watts cheated on him with her ex-husband Grant Mitchell.
Sharon reunited with the iconic Mitchell brother during his brief return to Albert Square during the BBC soap’s 40th anniversary week last month.
Teddy was living blissfully unaware of Sharon’s affair with his cousin, naively believing that everything was going well in their turbulent relationship.
On top of this, Teddy is unaware that his beloved son Barney Mitchell is not actually his biological son, and in reality is the son of Zack Hudson.
Zack made the discovery when he heard his former lover Nicola lying to her estranged husband Teddy about what blood type Barney is when the teenager was taken to hospital last week.
In scenes aired on Tuesday night (March 11), Zack was making excuses to his sister Sharon for injuries sustained after Nicola ordered thugs to beat him up.
Not believing Zack’s story, Sharon confronted Nicola about what actually happened, with the show’s new villain denying any involvement in what occurred at wine bar Harry’s Barn.
Later learning the truth from Zack, Sharon gets in a physical head to head with Nicola, slapping her in front of those gathered in her wine establishment.
Learning the truth about who Barney’s true father is, Sharon makes her way to Mitchells’ family home, to break up with a heartbroken Teddy.
Before Sharon gets to expose the truth about Nicola cheating on him with Zack many years ago, Barney interrupts at the end of the episode and reveals all about Sharon’s night with Grant.
Those watching at home rushed to X, previously known as Twitter, to have their say on the twist to the tale and predict how Teddy will react.
