D’Arcy Short could only manage 1, before he was caught behind off Xavier Bartlett with the last ball of the first over.
Strikers’ skipper Matt Short smashed two fours in his 13 off 12 balls, before he was caught by Bartlett off Tim Whitney.
Chris Lynn smashed two fours and a six, before he was caught by Bartlett off Will Prestwidge for 24 from 21 balls.
English import Ollie Pope hit three fours and a six in his 29-ball knock of 34, before he was caught by Nathan McSweeney to give Prestwidge his second scalp.
Alex Ross hit three fours in his 20, before he was run out in a horror mix up with Jamie Overton going for a second run.
“Mix up what is going on,” Brendon Julian said on Fox Cricket.
“What happened there? He went basically all the way down and then got sent all the way back. What is going on there?”
“That really should have been two,” Mark Waugh said.
“Jimmy Pierson had the awareness to gather it and make the throw and they still had time to make the runout.”
“That is really average running between the wickets,” Michael Hussey said.
“Should have been two. They ran the first one hard as well. They started going and Overton said, no sorry I’m not coming.”
“But he decided to go and he went,” Waugh added.
“I’m just not sure why he decided to pull up stumps. It’s a costly wicket because Ross was playing well.”
Paul Walter came up with a perfect yorker to send James Bazley for 23, but not before he smashed one four and two towering sixes.
