Police have issued an update after a van was driven into two pedestrians near Blackpool. Officers were called out to Breck Road, in Poulton-le-Fylde, at 12.50am on Sunday morning (February 16).

It followed a collision involving a Ford Transit van, which crashed into two men. Lancashire Police said one of the men, aged in his 20s, suffered serious injuries while the other man, aged in his 40s, suffered minor injuries.

In an update, police say they have now made three arrests in connection with the incident. Two men from Great Eccleston, aged 32 and 23, and a 24-year-old man from Blackpool were all arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

They have since been bailed pending further enquiries. Lancashire Police says the incident is being treated as isolated, with no wider threat to the public.

The force has also released an image of a grey Ford Transit van, with a distinctive orange logo (pictured above). Police believe the van may have travelled to the Bloomfield and Talbot areas of Blackpool and to the Breck Road area of Poulton around the time of the incident.

People are being urged to check their dashcams or CCTV cameras for any footage which shows the van between 11pm on Saturday and 1am on Sunday. Anyone with relevant footage, or further information about the incident, is asked to contact police.

Detective Chief Inspector Fiona Jackson, of Lancashire Police’s West CID, said: “Our investigation is very much ongoing, and I am reaching out to you, the public, for your help. We believe the grey van travelled to the Blackpool area in the hours prior to the collision and are asking for anyone who may have been travelling a similar route to check their dashcams, or if you have CCTV footage, to check that too.

“If you do have any footage, or any information, no matter how insignificant you may think it to be, please do the responsible thing and get in touch with us.” Anyone with information is asked to contact Lancashire Police on 101, quoting log 0063 of February 16.
